Gendered Intelligence (GI) is a registered not-for-profit Community Interest Company, established in 2008. Our mission is to increase understandings of gender diversity and to improve the lives of trans people. We work predominantly with the trans community and those who impact on trans lives; we particularly specialise in supporting young trans people aged 8-30.
Join the team
Gendered Intelligence consists of a team of skilled trainers, youth workers, mentors, public speakers, consultants, workshop facilitators and community practitioners. We have a working and in-depth knowledge of the wider trans community and of the young trans community in particular.
Gendered Intelligence is a ‘trans-led’ organisation which means many members of the team are trans identified. We feel strongly that there is not one way of being trans, and there are many different ways and approaches to help GI achieve its aims.
We are keen to ensure that collectively the team is diverse in order that we can draw from a wide range of backgrounds, perspectives and styles of thinking and working. As the organisation grows this is more important than ever.
Gendered Intelligence work is divided into five areas of services. These are: Trans Youth Work, Work in Education, Professional Services, Public Events and Special Projects.
We are looking for a range of trans, non-binary and gender questioning youth workers to form part of our growing trans youth work team.
There are two positions that we are looking for across a range of our monthly youth groups in London, Bristol and Leeds. These are a Lead Youth Worker (LYW) and an Assistant Youth Worker (AYW). We encourage people to apply for more than one group and in some cases you may be assigned Lead worker for one group and Assistant for another.
We are looking for a diverse team with appropriate experience, from wide range of backgrounds, identities and who are able to work in the areas of London, Leeds and Bristol.
Deadline for submissions is 29th March 2018 at 5pm. Send your completed applications to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Interviews will take place on: 27th April 2018, you will need to be available all day
All successful applicants will be subject to a DBS check.
2. Trans youth Summer camps volunteer roles
Every year Gendered Intelligence runs Summer camps for young trans, non-binary and gender questioning people aged 11-24.
This year is our 10th birthday and we’re celebrating by making camp supersized! Super Camp will involve us taking 180 young trans and non-binary people aged 18-25 camping for 5 days and 4 nights, from the 13th – 17th August 2018.
Alongside Super Camp we’ll be running an 11 – 17 year olds camp for 35 young people, going for our usual 4 days and 3 nights from the 27th – 30th July 2018.
Would you like to volunteer at either of the camps?
For both camps we are looking for trans, gender variant and non-binary identified people who would like to volunteer to work as youth workers on either camping trips. In addition, we are also looking for people who can be part of our practical team on Super Camp, for this you need cooking, DIY, practical, first aid skills, or be willing to go on a food hygiene and/or first aid course paid for by GI, at your convenience.
Fill in an application form and return it to email@example.com and firstname.lastname@example.org by 5pm on the 19th March 2018. You will hear back from us by the beginning of April.
